Everyone who is accepted for membership in PHANA is included in the PHANA
Members Directory.The
purpose of this Directory is to promote communication and cooperation among PHANA members.To this end, the Directory contains full contact information for
members.For privacy reasons
and unlike the public Register the Directory will not be
posted openly on the Internet and will not be distributed to non-members.
The Members Directory is arranged
alphabetically by name within Member Status (Helper, Apprentice).The Members Directory therefore contains more contact
information and is in a different sequence from the Register.The Register groups names under state/province within country
a sequence to assist public searches to find the nearest Helper.
For privacy reasons (e.g. to avoid exposing members to
more junk mail than they already receive), the Members Directory is
made available only to members.The
main mode of accessing the Members Directory will be through access to
a non-public area of the current PHANA web site.Following a development period to refine design and to develop adequate
procedures,[1]
the Members Directory may be transferred to the Foundation web site.
The advantage of the Internet version of the Members
Directory is that it is kept continuously up to date and is accessible 24
x 7 through any computer capable of linking to the World-Wide Web.Most members without computers can use computers in their public
libraries to access the Register and Members Directory.Members still requiring printed versions of the Register and the
Members Directorycan
obtain printed copies on request and on payment of associated costs.
Subject to members wishes, the Directory is
likely to be complemented by one or more email circles, assisting
communication and cooperation.There
might, for example, be a PHANA Helpers email circle, assisting interchange
of views and information, such as assignments and exercises associated with
specific lectures.
