NOTES ON ABOVE TABLE

1. North American fees
  A. Increase Helper from $100 to $110.  Rationale: PHANA needs the revenue and we are bringing in extra services that are bundled in the membership fee.  A 10% increase seems reasonable
  B. Decrease Apprentice from $75 to $60.  Rationale: we have been very unsuccessful in attracting Apprentices.  A $15 reduction plus new services will hopefully help us be more successful.
  C. Helper Trainee and Associate fees need to be considerably lower than Helper/Apprentice Helper because we don't put these people in the Register and can offer them only limited benefits.
2. International Fees
These are lower than North American fees for three main reasons:
  A. There is less incentive to international Helpers, etc. to join PHANA.  North America is far away.  It is less meaningful to these Helpers/Apprentices to be entered in the PHANA Register.  Current US foreign policy also works against people in other countries wanting to be seen to be associated with the US.
  B. The currencies of many countries are very weak in comparison to the $US.  North American rates in $US are not affordable for many people in (for example) South American countries.
  C. This is our first opening of PHANA membership outside the US & Canada.  It is wise to keep the fees low at least for the first few years.
3. This category provides flexibility for the sale of PHANA services.  People in this category qualify for a given service only if they meet the conditions of BOTH this category and requirements for the specific service.  In effect, PHANA Council decides to how wide or narrow an audience each specific service will be offered.
4. Associates qualify for PTH access if recommended by an Affiliate, a Chapter, or a Helper who is a PHANA member.
5. This service is available to non-members at a higher price.  Requiring recommendation from Affiliates, Chapters or PHANA members seems like an unnecessary restriction.  Council consensus seems to be not to impose extra restrictions on this service.
